My current skincare crushes

Skincare favourites

I don’t really need an excuse to buy any more skincare products. Our bathroom cabinet is basically my own personal Boots/The Body Shop/Space NK; my dressing table is overflowing with bits and bobs to try; my boyfriend is not a happy bunny.

In all seriousness, there’s no better time than Spring to update your skincare routine. If you’re like me and are prone to oily skin when the weather gets a little bit warmer, it’s best to target that with a refreshed routine to combat those problem areas. I’ve stocked up on a few new bits and pieces in recent weeks whilst rediscovering some old faves. Without further ado, here’s my current skincare crushes – warning: this might make you want to go out shopping (sorry, not sorry).

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

Garnier Micellar Water

An oldie but a goodie to start us off: this micellar water is without doubt, my one skincare product I couldn’t live without. I used to be a huge makeup wipe gal. I know, I know; awful, dreadful, crime against skincare. Garnier’s Micellar Water is just so dreamy, especially for those nights where you don’t have time can’t be bothered to fully give your face a deep cleanse. It takes off every scrap of makeup, is dirt cheap and lasts a super long time.

Garnier Skinactive Moisture BombĀ

Garnier SkinActive Moisture Bomb

You may have recently seen this blog post about the new Garnier nighttime gel cream that I’ve been majorly loving recently. Well, this is the daytime version and OMG I love it. I ran out of my fave moisturiser earlier this month and I couldn’t hunt it down anywhere. After silently sobbing to myself for a good hour or so, I popped to Boots to pick up the Garnier SkinActive Moisture Bomb; purely because I’d been loving the night cream so much. Safe to say, I’m a convert. This moisturiser is so light; great for this time of year when my skin is feeling a little bit tacky, and is so affordable. Garnier are seriously winning major brownie points from me right now.

Lancome Bi-Facil Instant Cleanser

Lancome Bi-Facil Instant Cleanser

I have to admit, I’ve never been one to own a separate skincare product for removing my eye makeup. I’ve normally relied upon whatever else I’m using to take off those last remnants of mascara and winged liner. But then this Lancome Bi-Facil cleanser came into my life and what do ya know? I’m now religiously taking my eye makeup off with this product as if my life depended on it. Yes, it’s a little pricey and yes, water or any other bog standard eye makeup remover would do the same job. But this Lancome one just leaves your eye area feeling so soft and nourished afterward and genuinely removes every little scrap. I would highly recommend if you often find yourself struggling to get that last bit of mascara off and regularly wake up in the mornings with panda eyes.

The Body Shop’s Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing ButterĀ

Let me just start this off by saying this Body Shop product has quite literally changed the game for me when it comes to cleansers. I have tried a lot in my lifetime (and I mean a lot) and often don’t really see the difference between one to another. But this cleansing butter is just divine. It has the consistency of coconut oil (bear with me) and all you need is a tiny pea-sized amount to rub over your dry face after removing makeup and then you wash off with warm water. The way my skin feels after using this cleanser is just incredible: soft, smooth and refreshed. It’s so light on your skin and not remotely clogging. This officially wins the award of Favourite Skincare Product of All Time…in my books anyway…
