Pretty in pink | new beauty finds

Before I went on holiday, I had a mini splurge in Superdrug. I’m not sure what came over me; I didn’t need anything and certainly didn’t need to add to my makeup collection but it happened. Oops.

I’ll admit, I’m normally a Boots girl through and through but whilst waiting to meet a friend for breakfast, I popped in to Superdrug and was completely won over by MUA and Makeup Revolution, both of which are brand new finds. Oh dear, my poor purse.

Because I was about to go on holiday, I fancied getting a new bronzer to keep that glow alive whilst away and this Makeup Revolution Vivid Baked Bronzer definitely hit the spot. For a fraction of the price of my beloved Benefit Hoola, this product is totally gorgeous; it’s so pigmented, it’s super subtle and the gold shimmer is just stunning. This has been part of my everyday makeup routine from the day I bought it and is the perfect accompaniment for my other new love, the MUA Luxe Highlight Shimmer.

This was just £4 (yes, really) yet is without doubt the best highlight stick I’ve ever used. I’ve tried similar products from Collection and No.7 but this seems to have been made for me. Not only is the packaging all ombre and amazing, the highlighter itself is creamy, pigmented and not too glittery so your face doesn’t end up looking like a disco ball. Just a quick swipe of this over your cheekbones and brow bone, a quick rub in with your fingers and voila. It’s so super simple to use and is the perfect addition to my makeup bag.

Finally, I felt that no sunny holiday would be complete without a pretty new nail varnish. Again, MUA delivered with this gorgeous pink varnish – not too girly but just perfect for a beachy break. Plus, the bottle is super cute and small.

I’ve definitely learnt a lesson or two about branching away from my beloved brands and trying something new: MUA and Makeup Revolution are now firm favourites of mine and I can’t wait to stock up on more goodies.  I’m desperate to get my hands on this Ultimate Undressed eye palette (hello gorgeous nude eyes) and these lipsticks?! Rose gold?! To die for.

What new additions have you made to your makeup collection recently? Let me know in the comments! xo
