Going Nude with Maybelline

I’ve never been one for a bold eye. Maybe it’s a confidence thing or maybe it’s a laziness thing. Either way, I like my eyes relatively naked when it comes to makeup, especially in the eyeshadow department. That’s why this palette is my new best friend.

I was lucky enough to be given this Nudes palette for Christmas from a friend after having my eye on it for weeks. I was after a varied palette that not only offered me muted, matte shades but also the odd shimmer shade when I fancied stepping it up a bit. And this Maybelline beauty does just that.

I’ve been a huge Maybelline fan for years; I swear by their Dream Matte Mousse foundation and their Lash Sensational mascara is to die for. So I’m pretty damn pleased that this palette didn’t disappoint and ruin my longstanding relationship with Maybelline.

These shadows are pigmented, long lasting and hugely complementary of each other – there’s even a handy guide on the back of the packaging to tell you which shade goes with which and where on the eye. For someone like me who’s a bit wimpy when it comes to eye makeup, this has been a life saver.

The best bit? This palette isn’t just good for your eyelids. The two shades in the top right corner have proven the absolute perfect colour match for my eyebrows; an area where I’m even more wimpy. I hate eyebrows. They’re difficult to manage, I never know what looks good on me and plucking them is just the most boring, tedious job ever invented. But now I’ve discovered these two shades are the perfect match, I couldn’t be happier.

If you’re like me and tend to play it safe with your eyeshadow, I would highly recommend this palette. Affordable; long-lasting; simply gorgeous.

I’ve never tried a drugstore eyeshadow palette but I have a huge collection and love for my high end ones, I always fear that drugstore ones wont have the same buttery creamy texture and amazing pigmentation, blending is also crucial for me because I wear a smokey eye on the daily. But, this does look like it would be ideal for me, it’s nude but brown and has a lovely mix of matte/shimmer, if I were to buy a drugstore eye palette, i think this would be the one!

I’m with you on the nude eyeshadow. I’ve been really into a nude or “natural” makeup look recently, and I think it’s becoming more popular all around. I just love the simplicity of it. And it’s just so much easier when I’m feeling lazy…
