October Faves

Where on earth did October go? It feels like only yesterday I was talking about September favorites and saying goodbye to Summer! This month has seriously flown by and I’m fully integrated into Autumnal life now; slipper socks, chunky knits, the lot. So here’s a flavour of what I’ve been loving in the speedy month that was October…

Max Factor face Finity Flawless Foundation

I mentioned this foundation in a recent Max Factor haul post and it’s also made it’s way at the top of my faves list this month. Having always relied on my Mac Studio Fix foundation, I ventured out to a drugstore brand and have not been disappointed. I did get a shade slightly too dark for me (damn those bright Boots lights) but despite this, it’s been a miracle find. I love the consistency and, unlike lots of foundations, it genuinely does last all day thanks to the 3-in-1 formula.

When I first tried this, I had to come back downstairs (I was in bed watching YouTube) to tell Toby just how amazing it was. I’m the worlds biggest chocolate orange fan and I also love a couple of squares of dark chocolate in the evening when I get a sweet craving. So this is basically all I love about chocolate in one amazing bar of deliciousness. Winner.

The Body Shop indian night jasmine fragrance mist

I love a good perfume but rarely buy them for myself; they’re often high up on my birthday and Christmas list. However, I recently ran out of my trusty Marc Jacobs Daisy and wanted a less expensive alternative to see me through the colder months. I’m a huge Body Shop fan as you might know so I popped in recently and got my hands on this gorgeous fragrance mist. Granted, the scent doesn’t last as long as perfume would on the skin and I do find myself having to top up during the day but for a bargain price, this spray is simply stunning with musky hints of jasmine.

zoella wonder hand handcream

Zoella might just be the main reason I joined the blogging world. I was going through a hard time at the end of last year and watched all of her videos that totally got me back on my feet. So obviously when she brought out a beauty range, I was going to be all over it. This hand cream is a recent addition to her range and it really is gorgeous. I’ve spent money on expensive hand creams in the past and they’ve not really had that much effect but this was so cheap and does an amazing job. Plus, it smells divine and the packaging is copper and pink – a hand cream after my own heart.

This is a bit of a random favourite but over the past couple of months or so, my boyfriend and I have taken to doing our food shopping online with Ocado. We had a great offer to begin with which lured us in but I’ve been genuinely impressed with the service and quality of food. I feel like a proper grown up including this in my faves but it really has changed our lives (dramatic) as it means we have SO much more time at the weekends. Schlepping around Sainsbury’s on a Saturday morning was always one of my worst domestic tasks but now, we can have our food delivered whenever we want and we’re actually saving a huge amount of money too. I won’t ever look back!

Accessorize ‘Z’ range pendant

Who doesn’t love Accessorize? Seriously; it’s the best shop ever. Their ‘Z’ range, designed by the MD’s daughter, has been out for a while and I have a lot of items from there but earlier this month, I was given this gorgeous pendant as a gift from a friend and I’ve barely taken it off since. It’s the simplicity that I love the most; it’s got a gorgeous and unique design but goes with pretty much everything. I’m a huge statement necklace fan but in the Autumn, I prefer to dial it down a little with my accessories and so this has been the perfect addition to my collection.

Paul mitchell thicken up styling liquid

This has actually been on my dressing table for a long time but I recently rediscovered it – the colder months tend to make my hair a little lacklustre and because I have  fine locks anyway, this can cause havoc with my hair’s volume and body. I rooted around and dug this beauty out and started to apply every day after washing my hair and before blow drying and I can really see the difference. Be careful not to overload the hair with the product as it can produce the opposite effect and weigh your hair down but by adding a couple of pumps to the roots, I’m seeing more thickness each day.

What have you been loving this month? Let me know in the comments below! xo

I absolutely love the Max Factor foundation. I use it in the shade 45, it works well in the summer months with a bit of a tan and very well in winter when I’m particularly pale. And I agree Zoella is such an inspiration.
