September Faves

October is well and truly here but there’s still time for me to share what beauty, skin and lifestyle  products I loved during the month that was September.

There were so many things that I loved last month that I’ve had to edit my final favourites down – here’s my top items that made the final cut:

If you’ve not heard of Gretchen Rubin’s ‘The Happiness Project‘, I would recommend buying or downloading it straight away. It’s a fascinating insight into her year-long quest for happiness and the small changes everyone can make in their lives to make them that bit happier. I’m not normally one for such ‘self-help’ type books but I read this a year ago when my commute and life in the city was making me miserable and it really helped. I’ve started to reread it this month to remind myself of ways to make everyday life that bit simpler and happier.

laura ashley ’emma’ candle

This was given to me last Christmas by my lovely parents but I’ve only got round to lighting it recently. Not only does it have my name on it (winner) but this candle has a beautiful floral scent that’s not too strong but softly fills a room with an amazing ‘girly’ smell. It’s just truly lovely.

I mentioned this moisturiser in my recent ‘everyday skincare essentials‘ blog and it just had to be included in this month’s faves too. I’ve been after a lightweight moisturiser for a while that doesn’t clog up my pores and leave my skin feeling oily. I’ve been using The Body Shop’s Vitamin E daily cleanser for a while so it only felt natural to add the moisture cream to my collection. It absorbs so easily into the skin and doesn’t leave any kind of shine or grease. The perfect moisturiser in my eyes.

l’oreal paris elnett satin hair spray and heat protect

Last month, I got my hair cut which was quite a big deal for me. I had about 5-6 inches taken off the length and it’s left my hair feeling so much healthier. With my new hairdo, I’ve invested in some new products to keep it looking fab – the heat protect spray in particular is a must. I’ve always been terrible at looking after my hair despite blowdrying and straightening or curling it most days so this heat protect spray is a saviour. And it smells amazing! With my shorter hair, I’ve been experimenting a bit more with styling and have loved curling it more. This L’Oreal Paris hair spray has therefore also been a godsend as it keeps my hair in place all day long without the stiff and dry look that lots of hairsprays can give you.

This month saw so many beauty faves that I’ve decided to put them all together in this post. This Smashbox eye palette I featured in my recent mini make-up haul and it’s stayed firmly in my list of have products along with the Bourjois Paris Liner Pinceau; by far the best liquid eye liner I’ve ever used. New to my make-up collection this month is Collection’s Bronze Glow Mosaic which is a beautiful multi-tonal bronzer that’s not too orange or brown along with Revlon’s Super Lustrous Lipstick in the shade Blushed. These have both proven staples in my autumn everyday make-up look. I’m really impressed with the Revlon lippie in particular; I’m not normally a lipstick kinda gal but this has super staying power and was really affordable so I’ll definitely be adding a few more of these to my collection.

What have you been loving in September? Let me know in the comments! xo

It’s so gorgeous! I’d say it’s a browny-pink, not as red as it might look in the photos but it’s such a lovely natural colour that’s perfect for Autumn! I love your blog – especially the ‘What’s In My Makeup Bag’ post..I really want to do one of those and you’ve inspired me to do it this week :) x
