Aug Faves

Welcome to my first ever favourites post!

Miscellar Water
Yes, I know I’m pretty late to this party. But I only discovered this holy grail a week or so ago and it’s changed my skincare routine for good. I used to be a serial ‘make-up wipe will do’ kinda gal in the evenings. Call it lazy or uneducated; either way, I was terrible at cleansing my skin properly. I read loads of hype about this product online and when my friend recommended it also, I thought why not? It’s literally one of the best skincare products I’ve used in a while. It takes off all traces of makeup but leaves your face non-greasy (handy for someone with combination skin) and even tackles that ever-annoying issue of waterproof mascara. This will be a staple in my bathroom cabinet forever more.

The Body Shop’s ‘Drops of Youth Bouncy Sleeping Mask’

Following on with the skincare theme, this Body Shop product has also revolutionised my skin. I’ve never had the worlds worst complexion but was prone to the odd breakout and dry skin was always an issue. This pot, whilst pricey at £24, has been a life saver. I apply it at night after cleansing and you only need the tiniest amount so it’s going to last a long time. It’s left my skin feeling bouncier, softer and more refreshed.

L’Oreal Elvive ‘Smooth and Polish’ Shampoo and Conditioner

As a victim of fine locks, finding a good haircare routine to keep my hair hydrated and glossy but not weighed down with products has always been a challenge. I experimented with L’Oreal’s Fibrology range which I did love but found I could only use once or twice a week without my hair getting greasy. So I bought these three beauties and they’ve left my hair softer, glossier and with less flyaways (my pet hate). Proof you don’t need to flash the cash when it come to good quality hair products!

My new camera
A step away from beauty now. My first ever favourites post wouldn’t be complete without my brand new camera making an appearance! I bought it predominantly so I could have really high quality and totally original imagery for this blog; and it’s the best money I’ve ever spent. After hours (literally) of research, I settled on the Olympus Pen Lite in white and it really is a stunning thing. The shots are super high definition, it’s lightweight and the features, such as touch screen and wifi to stream images straight to you phone, make this the perfect camera for even a complete novice like me.
Check back in next month to see what September brings!

Im so jealous that you have the Olympus Pen, It looks such a beautiful camera. It was a toss up for me between this and the Sony Alpha 5000 and I ended up going for the Sony because it was smaller so I could keep it with me all the time.

Also, some the products you mentioned here! Great Post! xxx

Hey Emma, I’m a new blogger too! And I know what it’s like seeing loads of bloggers out there who are established and have loads of followers and loads of likes and you’re sitting there full of anticipation and you’re buzzing to get to that level too… I stumbled upon your favourites post because I’ve just wrote mine for the month (not yet published) but I was wanting to see what everyone else was loving. And I’m so glad I did! I’ve been using Garnier’s Micellar Cleansing Water for a while and I love it, it’s definitely a product that isn’t overrated. Anyways, I really like your blog style which is why I’ve nominated you for the Beauty Blogger Award on my blog if you’d like to take part! But I’d just love you to know I really like the personality in your posts and the type of photographs you use – I hope this encourages you!! You’re a good blogger!
