A few January favourites

Colour Me Copper - January Favourites

It’s been a while since I wrote a favourites post. In fact, the last time I raved about some of my most-loved beauty products was last Spring. And the award for worst blogger goes to…so it’s time for some January beauty favourites.

Over the last month, I’ve been loving quite a few new products, some of which I was given for Christmas, some of which I’ve treated myself to because ya know, January is a miserable month so what’s a girl going to do other than stock up on new beauty bits and bobs? Here’s a few of my ultimate faves:

Coco Chanel Perfume

Chanel No.5 Perfume

As much as I love my YSL Black Opium perfume, it’s very much an evening scent. So I was delighted when my parents gave me this classic Coco Chanel perfume for Christmas. I think every woman should own a Chanel spritz at some point in their life. Classy, sophisticated and subtle; I’ve been spraying a little on my wrists every day and loving its nostalgic scent.

Scooper Dooper by Zella

Zella Soaper Dooper

My love for Zoella isn’t something I’ve hidden from my blog and social channels. I think she’s the perfect modern-day #Girlboss, influencer, icon….she’s why I got into blogging and why I’m obsessed with watching daily vlogs. So anything from her bath and beauty range is often high on my favourites lists. Toby gave me Scooper Dooper for Christmas and it’s by far my favourite product by Zoe yet. Not only is the packaging simply beautiful (hello rose gold detailing) but it makes the most amazing bubbles, smells gorgeous and leads your skin feeling truly pampered. What could be better?

L’oreal Pure Clay Glow Mask

L'oreal Pure Clay Glow Mask

My skin has been wreaking havoc this month thanks to the miserable weather and Christmas hangover so I decided to try one of L’Oreals new face masks as I’ve seen so many other beauty bloggers raving about them. So far, I’ve only tried the Glow Mask but have fallen head over heels. Almost immediately, I could see a real difference in my skin and I’ve started to use this once or twice a week to give my skin a bit more radiance. Yes, it’s messy and very, very orange (Oompa Loompa style) but for the low price point and wonderful results, I think it’s totally worth it.

This Works Deep Sleep Spray and Roller

This Works sleep products

I’m going to write a whole blog post about these wonder-products as one little mention in a favourites post just isn’t enough. For someone who suffers with the dreaded ‘busy brain’ more often than not, particularly at nighttime, these have been a god send. I’ve had a lot on my mind recently (to be continued in said blog post) and so sleep has not been my friend. So I decided to treat myself. I’m sure you’re not new to the idea of pillow sprays, but if you are, don’t knock them ’till you try them. A few sprays of this over my pillow at night and I’m whisked away to a spa, to a cosy place, to somewhere where busy thoughts don’t exist. As for the roller ball, I’ve actually been taking this to work and rolling it on my wrists every now and then to rid any stress and it works a treat.

Dior Maximizer 3D Lash Primer

Dior Lash Primer

I don’t own that many high-end products, partly because I don’t always see the point and partly (mainly) because my purse won’t allow it. But this Dior Lash Primer is a game changer. I was very kindly given it as a gift for Christmas and it has completely revolutionised my everyday make up. Pop a layer or two of this on before your mascara and not only do my lashes look fuller and longer, it lasts all day long. No more flaky bits of mascara halfway down my face by lunchtime, no more dark circles under my eyes. Hallelujah!

What products have you been loving this month? xo

Well done on the photography for this, it looks so bright and airy, which is tricky at this time of year!! I’m seriously impressed by the sound of the Dior Lash Primer – like you I don’t usually splurge on high end products but that one might just be worth it! Thanks so much for sharing your faves with us!

Thank you for your lovely comment! I saw the sun out that morning and immediately grabbed my camera and just started shooting as I know how temperamental the weather can be at this time of year! The Dior primer is incredible – it is pricey but I’m not using it every day, just for those days where I want to give my make up a bit more oomph, so I’m hoping it will last a long time!! xx
