It’s been a hella long time since I wrote a beauty blog; I kinda went through a phase of feeling a bit bored of writing about products and “stuff” given how saturated the beauty blogging world is. Plus, I really needed to cut back on my Boots splurges.
But over the last month or so, I’ve been really loving some new, and old, beauty bits and bobs so wanted to share those with you:
I’ve tried a lot of lipsticks in my lifetime but it’s safe to say that Mac still offer the very best ones. In fact, I think my first ever “grown up” lipstick was Mac’s Cherry Blossom which I still use today. For my birthday, Toby bought me Mac’s Honeylove after raving about it for months. I first fell in love when I saw Anna Saccone, one of my fave YouTubers, wearing it on an almost daily basis on her Snapchat and I just knew I had to have it. It’s so natural and nude and perfect for light summer days.
Zoella’s Sweet Inspirations
I’ve declared my love for Zoella’s bath and beauty range before and her brand new Sweet Inspirations collection is no exception. Again, I was lucky enough to be gifted a few bits from the range for my birthday this month and OMG it’s divine. The Bath Latte literally smells like a cake shop whilst the body cream is so soft and luxurious. And of course, my favourite Fizz Bar has to take centre stage; I mean, would you look at that packaging?
Bourjois’ Happy Light Primer
Who doesn’t love a bit of extra glow in the summertime? I purchased this primer from Bourjois a month or so ago and have to admit, it took a while for me to fall in love. But now, I’m hooked. It’s a beautifully lightweight primer that I apply after my moisturiser but before my foundation that offers a subtle glow to your cheeks and brow bones – the formula is silky and leaves your skin lookng radiant almost immediately so it’s perfect for non-makeup days too.
Maybelline’s Lash Sensational Luscious
I’ve raved about this mascara before – Maybelline’s Lash Sensational is the absolute bomb. But they recently launched a ‘Luscious‘ version that’s infused with oils and whilst I initially thought it was a bit of a fad, I popped one in my Boots basket anyway. It’s not disappointed: this mascara still offers the longer, fuller lashes that the original Sensational has but with a much lighter, softer finish. Genuinely, I just touched my lashes to confirm that yes, they are indeed feeling softer despite having around three layers of mascara on. The only downside is it’s more tricky to remove and this morning, after my shower, I looked like the ultimate panda despite a throrough nighttime cleansing routine. But we can forgive it for that.
