The Blush Edit

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

My name is Emma and I am a blushaholic. Yes it’s true; I have more blushers in my makeup collection than any other product and I can’t seem to stop buying them. It really is becoming quite a problem.

When the seasons change, as does my makeup bag and as the nights become longer and the air gets chillier, I rely a lot more on my trusty blushes to keep my skin looking healthy and glowing. Here’s a selection of a few of my favourites although I can’t guarantee that by the time you’ve finished reading this, I won’t have popped into Boots and bought another…

LOVE AT FIRST BLUSH – SOAP & GLORY

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

It promises¬†‘rosy-radiance’ on the front; and they aren’t wrong. This is probably my favourite blush of the moment thanks to its gorgeous shimmer shades and amazing pigmentation. It combines rose tones with a bronzer and highlighter and leaves a subtle finish that lasts all day. It’s a yes from me.

I picked this up on a whim one day when I’d forgotten my normal blush and it was an unexpected delight. The shades are very similar to the Soap & Glory blush, minus the bronze shade, and whilst the pigmentation and longevity aren’t as great, it’s a fantastic budget buy that leaves a healthy shine to your cheeks.

coralista – benefit

You can see how much I love this blush by the big dent missing in the middle! I’ve had this for a couple of years now and had actually forgotten I even owned it until I moved house earlier this year and found it hiding at the back of my dressing table. I prefer to wear this blush in the summer as it’s definitely more ‘pink’ than my other blushes but a light dusting still gives my cheekbones a nice shimmer in the Autumn weather. And it smells divine which is a bonus!

puff blush in nude mauve – max factor

This is my most recent purchase having read lots of fantastic reviews of this new creme blush by Max Factor. Whilst the colour is stunning, I’ve been a bit disappointed with the pigmentation and find myself having to top up by lunchtime on days I choose to wear this. However, it’s still a beautiful finish and the packaging is simple yet lovely.

lASTING FINISH IN PINK ROSE – RIMMEL LONDON

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Yet another well-thumbed blush in my collection! This is fantastic for a daytime blush and is so cute and tiny that’s it’s easy to throw into your handbag for a night out. It claims to be smudge resistant and long lasting which I totally agree with. I’m tempted to buy a few more of these as they’re so affordable and have a fantastic lifespan.

blush in bashful – collection

Another ‘on a whim’ purchase but still a worthy winner in my blush edit. This has a darker pink undertone and is perhaps a bit ‘Barbie-ish’ but it’s great for dark winters day when you’re after a real rosy-cheeked look. And it was a steal at ¬£2.99.
